Thank you for giving back through volunteering as a Field Marshal.  Field Marshals will be on duty for all 8 weeks of each recreational soccer season.  

Field Marshal Standard Operating Procedure

Tour of Duty: 

The standard tour of duty for each field marshal will be for 2 hours.  There will be 2 field marshals assigned to each duty location.  The tour of duty hours will be as follows:

9:30 to 11:30

11:30 to 1:30
1:30 to 3:30

Duties of a Field Marshal:

The field marshals will be assigned to staff a location on the Gilbert Youth Soccer Complex.  Each team of field marshals will be assigned:

2 orange vests

1 radio

1 first aid kit

1 binder containing report sheets, game schedules, and a field map.

During your tour of duty a field marshal is encouraged to wander the complex to observe the various matches being played and project their presence.  It is requested that the table remain staffed at all times so as to have a standard location for people to visit. (2 people are assigned to each table)

Please acquaint yourself with the provided material so that you can answer the questions of the parents and grandparents.  You serve as ambassadors of GYSA and being able to politely answer questions, direct people to the correct fields, and provide basic first and materials from the first aid kit go a long way in helping everyone to have a pleasurable experience at the complex.

In the event that a field marshal observes an argument/altercation on a field you are not to intervene in any manner that places yourself in any harm.  Immediately call for a board member via the radio or cell phone to respond to the scene.  Your duties in such a situation are to observe and report only. 

A FIELD MARSHAL INCIDENT REPORT FORM is provided for you to complete to the best of your ability.  Please attempt to find out the required information but if you are unable to do so for any reason, it is not a problem.  It is the responsibility of the GYSA board to take action, if any, for an incident.  Your report will help to clarify what happened.
