There are a number of soccer organizations in Arizona. Our sunny skies and wide open spaces are ideal for soccer and we can play almost year round. Because of this, there are a lot of choices for soccer, particularly in the East Valley. Many people ask us what makes our club different. There are a number of reasons why you should consider GYSA.
We are a volunteer organization, first and foremost. Our coaching staff is made up of men and women who have a true love of the game and a genuine desire to develop well rounded players. Our amazing team of managers help keep things running smoothly off the field so coaches can remain focused on player development and other coaching education opportunities.
Because we do not pay coaches, we can keep our costs low. Many clubs charge thousands of dollars just for a spot on their roster, then add extras like uniform fees, training fees and other expenses on top of that. The fee structure at GYSA is very simple. The 2020-21 registration fee is $250 for high school aged players, and $300 for all other players. This includes 2 practice shirts and a player ball. Uniforms will cost approximately $300 and will be used for a two year cycle (current uniforms are for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons). Teams that want to participate in tournaments split the cost evenly but many of these costs are offset by fundraising. We do not charge additional fees for referees, field rentals, equipment or special training. These items are all included in the cost of registration.
Finally, we focus on player development. We believe that players learn by getting as many touches on the ball as possible and our coaching curriculum is designed to accomplish that. Players are given the skills be be both technically and tactically superior. When game day arrives, they have all the tools needed to shine.
